Place the machine on a carpet or thin mat or blanket on the floor (or on a board on top of your bed if it is too difficult for you to get on the floor (bread boards work!)).

It would be ideal to put it in a super convenient place in your living room or bedroom where it can remain plugged in and easily accessed. Stretch out on your back and rest your ankles in the cushioned What are some of the Benefits of Using a Chi Aerobic Exerciser? My Story:

I am sharing this wonderful invention here on my professional speaking and individual and family facilitation site because 12 years ago discovering this remarkable health enhancing tool changed my life!

Discovering the Chi Aerobic Exerciser has been the answer to my deep desire for frequent massage and regular chiropractic care. During my daily 10-30 minutes of swaying back and forth, tension is “massaged” away, often my neck, back or hips adjust themselves effortlessly and I feel relief and release throughout my body. My time “Chi-ing is a quiet, meditative time when I check in with all parts of my body, listening carefully for information to help me support and enhance my own well-being. When I’m with others as I climb the stairs or dance I often notice that I’m still breathing easy though they are out of breath.

As the unit sways (I adjust the speed depending on what feels best and yummiest at the moment). I take this restorative time as an opportunity to close my eyes, quiet my brain, and surrender to the rejuvenation of my body, mind and spirit. With my eyes closed I can focus more keenly on the needs of my body while also creating a meditative space for myself.

Most of my close friends have their own passive aerobic exerciser and have shared some of their experiences like: loosing weight; being able to scurry back and forth across the length of Costco and no longer being winded! (this friend works at Costco); a knee being pain-free after just two weeks of Chi-ing (this friend had had knee surgery and had continued to experience pain—until chi-ing!).

When do I love, love, love my “Chi-ing” the most? When I am deeply fatigued or after a long day on my feet or after a night of dancing! I can stretch out and “Chi” for twenty minutes, maybe fall asleep for ten and get up just 30 minutes later as if it’s a new day. Also, if I’m restless or unable to fall asleep, ten or fifteen minutes of Chi-ing is almost guaranteed to sooth my body, free-up the stuck places and ease me into a wonderful night of sleep.

So, because of the wonderful and amazing benefits I’ve been enjoying for almost 12 years I wanted to help get the word out!

Please call me with your questions about “Chi-ing” or which machine might be the best match for you.

Here’s to YOUR health and vitality!

Passive aerobic exercisers, or “Chi” aerobic exercisers, employ a side to side swinging motion in order to oxygenate, tone, and strengthen the body while increasing the feelings of aliveness and well-being.  That is, they stimulate the Chi or life force energy in the body.

Using a Passive Aerobic Exerciser helps improve circulation and cell oxygenation just as aerobic exercise does, but without raising blood pressure or heart rate. Daily use of the passive aerobic machine improves the body's metabolism, helps align the spine, stimulates the immune system, releases muscle tension, and gently manipulates the internal organs. - Thomas Edison Increased oxygenation of the blood takes place due to lateral flexing of the spine, which stimulates the autonomic nervous system to open the bronchioles. Once there is increased oxygenation, the circulation automatically increases to pick up the additional oxygen. The gravitational angle of the legs and the rocking of the sacrum causes improvement in lymphatic drainage and the frequency of the motion in combination with the "figure 8" rocking creates the normalization of cerebral spinal flow.  Listen to your body

During any type of physical movement or exercise LISTEN closely and heed the signals and directions from your body.

Remember that your body is constantly changing. Each time you use the chi exerciser (or do anything in life) the situation is different than the time before. (What you ate, how much stress in your day, how you slept, what germs you were exposed to, what's on your mind. .. etc. has changed tremendously—even though everything may "seem" pretty much the same it’s not. This is a new and unique moment in time.

Let your body (not a logical or pressuring thought from your mind) decide whether this particular moment is the best time for “Chi-ing”

If your body does give you the go-ahead, let your body guide you about when it’s time to quit. (Be alert to manipulative thoughts from your mind trying to convince you “should use it and get your money’s worth”, “you ought to” or the like. When it’s timely for your body/mind/soul to exercise you’ll feel it.
Enjoying the benefits of Chi-ing:

• When you close your eyes and place your full attention on your inner body, during the swaying motion you will be able to pick up the cues from your body to roll on your side, cross one leg over the other, roll on to your stomach, etc. thereby greatly increasing both the benefits and enjoyment of your session.

• Trust your own body to know what is best at any given moment. Remain attentive with your eyes closed, listening to the directives of your body. Do your best not to "think" about what you've heard, read or been told about what is "good" for you—let your body guide you.

• No shoulds or ought-tos.
Continuously (moment-to-moment) trust your body’s innate wisdom for when to turn the machine off, or whether to re-set the timer for a longer session. One day you may not use the passive aerobic exerciser at all, while another day you may feel drawn to using it three different times.

Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.

- Edward Stanley
Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom grooves of the footrest on top of the machine. (It is also enjoyable and beneficial to use the unit while stretched out on your abdomen (face down). If your legs are sore (like mine are after dancing!) you may find that it feels marvelous to place the calf of your leg in the grooves).

Turn the machine on and then adjust the speed of the side-to-side motion for what FEELS BEST at that moment. As your body adjusts and restores you may find that you’ll want to change the speed.

The footrest will begin to move back and forth, carrying your feet from side to side.  The movement will transfer up through your entire body, causing you to sway smoothly back and forth like a fish swimming in water. (The person who invented this machine realized that if a fish can oxygenate it’s body via a gentle, side-to-side motion, it will work for humans too.)

I suggest you close your eyes while Chi-ing so you can relax more fully and focus on the signals from your body. As you become more skilled at picking up the subtle signals, you’ll find yourself lying on one side or the other, etc. Adjust the speed control to what feels best.

Now all you do is relax into your body, enjoy the wonderful sensations of being gently massaged and restored and breathe deeply and evenly if you’d like. Allow the machine to rock you gently for perhaps one - three minutes the first time.

To Get the MOST Out of Your Sessions
:
Important: When the time is up and the machine stops, remain relaxed and in place for another three to five minutes, enjoying the remarkable feeling of .....Chi....as it moves throughout your body. Studies indicate that about 60% of the benefit of your exercise time comes during the quiet time when the machine stops and energy is flowing freely and your body realigning itself. LISTEN to your body, not your mind.

You may “think” that you want to Chi for ten minutes or that it would be “good for you” to do such and such. No. Your body may not want to Chi at all or maybe only for one minute, our brains will not know, trust the body to know what it need moment-to-moment. Chi-ing should be soothing and feel good and wonderful. If you are having ANY discomfort, change your body position (to on your side, on your stomach, bend a knee, etc (see video for ideas), change speed or stop!

Trust the wisdom of your body, it wants to feel good. How to use Your Chi Exerciser:
